Oakham's newest Indian restaurant has just celebrated receiving a five star rating from the Food Standards Agency.

Jashir, formerly located at The Duke, 8 West Street, reopened on Oakham High Street under a new banner in April 2023.

In late April, the popular Indian restaurant and takeaway reopened at 51 - 53 High Street in Oakham as Jashir, a more high end eatery than it was when located at The Duke, but keeping its reasonable prices and family focused business practices.

Jashir's new home, which was formerly The Dovetail, is central and has already proven a great move for the team, headed up by Nilesh Patel.

The restaurant has been so busy since the move, that the team have had to turn customers away, and have encouraged individuals to book in advance to avoid disappointment.

Nilesh, Owner of Jashir, said: "We turned down over 100 people last week.

"As such, please book in advance to avoid any kind of disappointment. It is impossible for us to accommodate everyone at the same time. Please be flexible with timings.

"Once you are in, the table is yours for rest of the night, as all we want is for you guys to come in, relax, take your time and enjoy the night."
