Join in with a host of events in and around Rutland this weekend, including sporting events, live music, fundraising, 'foodie' feasts and more.

Thursday Night Dinner

The team at The Fox and Hounds in Knossington are hosting their regular Thursday Night meal deal on Thursday 6 July, and on the menu is a Tex Mex classic.

For just £12, enjoy a Tex Mex beef brisket chilli with rice and flatbread.

The Rutland Cup

On July 8 and 15, the Rutland Cup will be taking place. 

The annual football event sees local teams competing to win - and to raise money for charity. This year, they are supporting Pepper's- A Safe Place. 

The games will take place at Oakham United Football Club at 1pm and 4pm.

Oakham Big Book Swap

On Sunday 9 July, join the Oakham Book Swap team on Tyne Road, Oakham for another big book swap in aid of Root-and-Branch-Out CIC. 

Books are free, but the Book Swap team welcome you to bring your unwanted books to swap or make a donation to July's chosen charity.

They will also have a raffle, which costs 50p a ticket, and a small selection of stationery and handmade items available to purchase, proceeds from which will also be donated to their chosen charity.

Books will be in the garage from 10.30am until 2.30pm on Sunday 9 July.

Party in the Park

On Sunday 9 July, Rutland's Cutts Close will play host to the annual Armed Forces Party in the Park, organised by Rutland's Lord-Lieutentant and supported by Oakham Town Council. 

There will be:

  • a funfair
  • food
  • drinks
  • games
  • local sellers and stalls
  • live music

Manky Beds will be playing at 12pm, and The Bluebird Belles will be hitting the stage from 2:30pm. 

Entry is free and all are welcome.
