Oakham Bowling Club is undertaking a drive for new members.

The club is holding two Open Days, on Saturday 29 and Sunday 30 May, as part of Bowls England Big Bowls Weekend.

Club new members officer Beryl Birch said: "Whether you are an experienced bowler or a complete beginner who would like to find out more about the sport of bowls or just have a try, everyone is most welcome to come.

"We just ask that you wear flat soled shoes and we will provide all other equipment needed.

" We open on both days between 11.00am and 3.00pm.

"We have plenty of parking , there is no entry charge, free coffee and biscuits will be available and our well-stocked bar will be in operation.

"If you enjoy your taster or if you can't make the open day, why not book a longer session at another time to suit you, or for those new to the sport, take advantage of our 30 day free trial membership offer.

"We look forward to seeing you."
