A familiar voice on BBC 5 Live's coverage of the Premier League and the FIFA World Cup, Pat has seen football from all sides: from being a star player at Chelsea and Everton and playing for Scotland under Sir Alex Ferguson to being chairman of the players union and even a spell trying to balance the books as a club chief executive.

Right from the start of his career, Pat has been known as one of the most entertaining and literate voices in football: the fans' man on the inside; a music fan as likely to be found DJing at club nights as appearing as a media pundit.
