Following their sold-out run of 'Kinky Boots' last year, Rutland Musical Theatre are proud to present the musical comedy feast 'The Addams Family', launching tonight, Wednesday 10 April, at The Corby Cube.

Based on The Addams Family characters created by Charles Addams, Wednesday Addams, the ultimate princess of darkness, has grown up and fallen in love with a sweet, smart young man from a respectable family – a man her parents have never met. And if that wasn't upsetting enough, Wednesday confides in her father and begs him not to tell her mother.

Now, Gomez Addams must do something he's never done before– keep a secret from his beloved wife, Morticia. Everything will change for the whole family on the fateful night they host a dinner for Wednesday's "normal" boyfriend and his parents, with hilarious consequences.

With all the well-known kooky characters such as Uncle Fester, Lurch, Pugsley and more, this is a heart-warming story of love, family and friendship… with a twist!

Rutland Musical Theatre was founded in 1980 by a small group of people who were keen to start the first 'Musical Theatre' society in the county.

Founders George Baldwin, Joan Walton, John Hackett and Christopher Richardson came to the idea not only because of a love of music and theatre generally, but also to preserve the name of Rutland - which at the time was under threat. Their first production was Showboat, performed at Uppingham Theatre in April 1981 to much acclaim. Since then the Company has gone from strength to strength and is now a well respected part of the Rutland arts scene.

During the pandemic, it was announced that Rutland Musical Theatre would be moving their production of Fiddler on the Roof to The Core at The Corby Cube, and they returned to this impressive venue again in 2023 for the stiletto-stomping showstopper, Kinky Boots - and where they will be for Addams Family.

In every production, more than 90 people on average are involved, from cast, production crew, orchestra and front of house.

They have announced their upcoming shows following The Addams Family, which will be Into the Woods and Shrek.

Find out more about the group here, or book your tickets on the Corby Cube website.

The Adams Family will be showing from 10 - 13 April at various times.
