Ballers, an interactive sports venue that was set to open in November, has announced that their opening will be delayed until after Christmas.

The venue, which is occupying the building that was formerly Shoecraft, will host a range of sports simulators and family-friendly games.

The team shared on social media: "Good news first, signs are up!

"Bad news, thanks to Qatar ordering hundreds of simulators for the football World Cup fan parks, all the fitters have been paid to go to Qatar for a month so unfortunately we will not be opening this side of Christmas.

"We're not going to let this get us down, we have the signs up, and will be more than ready to open in January to welcome everyone to enjoy something new in Oakham"

The building was formerly popular local shop, Shoecraft, which closed due to the owner retiring.

Ballers can be found on Facebook and on South Street, near Tesco.
