Overnight roadworks have started in Uppingham and are set to last until the end of next week.

Rutland County Council has confirmed the works for London Road began this week.

The first phase of works - which last until Friday 2 October - will see the road surface ripped up and replaced between Spring Back Way and High Street West.

The second phase will run from Monday 5 October until Friday 9 October and will see the surface from High Street West to North Street West replaced.

On each day of the project, the road will be closed from 7pm to 5am.

A signposted diversion will be in place.

"Thank you for your patience while we carry out these improvements," the council said.
