The minor injuries unit at Stamford Hospital is closed today, Wednesday 21 December 2022, while emergency staff support Peterborough City Hospital colleagues.

This decision was made due to the potential overload caused to remaining staff by the current strike action.

The unit is expected to reopen on Thursday 22 December 2022.

This comes as the East Midlands Ambulance Service staff begin their strike today. This will take place on Wednesday 21 December 2022, Thursday 22 December 2022 6am to 6am, and Wednesday 28 December 2022 and Thursday 29 December 2022 6am to 6am.

Patients seeking help with minor injuries should visit NHS 111 online or call 111.

Alternatively, patients are being directed to units in Grantham, Peterborough and Oakham while the closure continues.
