A 20-year-old man was found seriously injured at the side of the road following a serious collision on the A606 Empingham Road on Sunday 8th December.

Police were called to the scene around 6.45am where they found the man at the side of the road with serious injuries to his head and leg. He was taken to hospital and treated for injuries to his head, leg and pelvis, none of which were life-threatening.

The police are appealing for anyone with information or dash-cam footage from anyone who witnessed the incident or saw a black Audi Q2 to get in touch via their website.

Currently, investigators think that it was a black Audi Q2 that was involved in the collision. The car was found later abandoned in Oakham and two 20-year-old women were arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by careless driving, failing to stop at the scene of the accident and drink driving.

The two women were arrested but have since been released under investigation, making the police's appeal for information and dash-cam footage crucial.
