Oakham all ye faithful: Christmas music concerts in Oakham and Rutland

From traditional church carol concerts to Ukulele festive favourites, there is a Christmas concert for all types of music lover in Oakham and Rutland this December.
Rutland Symphonic Winds' Christmas Cracker
Friday 13th September from 7pm
Playing a mix of traditional carols and songs from the Great American Song book, Rutland Symphonic Winds will perform their Christmas Cracker at Market Overton Village Hall alongside a raffle and refreshments.
Christmas in Concert with Rutland Musical Theatre
Saturday 14th December from 7.30pm
Rutland Musical Theatre are bringing a lively and festive performance to the Church of St Peter and St Paul in Uppingham on Saturday 14th September.
Performing a mix of Christmas classics and popular favourites, the group are raising money for their society's upcoming performance of Shrek the Musical and donating a portion of profits to the church.
Anna sings Christmas
Join Anna Taylor for a brilliant show of Christmas songs accompanied by mince pies, mulled wine and hot drinks.
Anna Sings Christmas will take place in Great Casterton Church Hall for a wonderful afternoon of Christmas music.
Rutland Choral Society presents Christmas at Normanton Church
Sunday 15th December from 12.45pm
Rutland Choral Society will hold their Christmas show, displaying a beautiful selection of singing and music, raising money for local charity Pepper's A Safe Place.
Directed by Jamie Conway and Accompanied by Ivan Linford, the picturesque location and beautiful music are sure to get you in the Christmas spirit while raising money for a good cause.
A Service of Nine Lessons and Carols
Thursday 19th December from 7.30pm
For a traditional combination of carols and teaching, join All Saints' Church in Oakham for this special Christmas service.
A Christmas Celebration: Festival Carols and Readings
Friday 20th December from 7pm
Join Oakham All Saints' Church for an evening of festive carols and readings followed by Christmas drinks.
There is a jam-packed schedule of performers, including carols by Holst, Howells and Warlock, modern favourites by Rutter and Chilcott and songs by Rutland Youth Choir.
Tickets cost £15 or £20 for adults, under 18s go free, with funds going to support Rutland Foodbank. Tickets and additional information is available here.
D'Ukes of Rutland Christmas Ukulele Concert
Saturday 21st December from 1.30pm to 3.00 pm
The D'Ukes of Rutland will be returning to Oakham Castle for their annual Christmas concert. This will include a mixture of their favourite songs and some Christmas classics.
