Police investigate dead body found in Oakham

An 'unexplained' dead body has been found in Oakham.

Police were called to West Road, Oakham, at 5pm on Monday (20 July) by the ambulance service after the body of a 39-year-old man was found in a property.

A statement from Leicestershire and Rutland Police said: "The death is being treated as unexplained and enquires are continuing into the circumstances.

"A post-mortem examination has taken place and further tests are being conducted."

It added: "If anyone has any information which may assist with the investigation they are encouraged to contact 101."
