Police are still seeking a man following a shooting in Oakham last night.

A statement from Leicestershire Police confirmed: "We received a call shortly after 6.20pm last light (5 August) from a man reporting he had been shot by an air weapon.

"The incident happened in woodland off Burley Park Way, Oakham.

"The man sustained a minor injury which didn't require medical treatment.

"Officers attended and with the assistance of National Police Air Service (NPAS) carried out an area search.

"No-one was found and enquiries are ongoing into the report."

As Nub News reported earlier today, anyone with any information should ring 101 and quote incident 469.
