Record Store Day is descending on Oakham on Saturday 12th April and Rocka-Buy Records have joined forces with several other local businesses to put on a lively day for music lovers.

Record Store Day is celebrated on 12th April by over 300 independent record shops across the UK where they come together to celebrate the unique culture and community they cultivate.

There is lots going on, with Rocka-Buy Records on Mill Street opening from 8am (with customers expected to be queueing early) selling a variety of Record Store Day (RSD) and regular Rocka-Buy Records items, including their usual rare pieces. There will also be Rocka-Buy and RSD t-shirts and hoodies for sale.

On the day there will be live music and a vinyl DJ playing throughout the day, with local businesses joining the party. Fika Coffee Shop will be there with their popular converted horse-shop serving delicious pastries and coffee from 7am outside Rocka-Buy Records.

Rocka-Buy have also teamed up with Notorious Tattoo who will have a one-day-only special tattoo flash with a discount for those that come into the shop for Record Store Day. The tattoo flash will be posted closer to the time. Notorious Tattoo will be offering this from 10am until 6pm.

They will also be joined by The Crown Tavern, which is round the corner from Rocka-Buy Records. They will be open from 12pm to grab a drink and bring it round to the area near the shop. They will also have their toilets open.

Accompanying this, there will also be a stall run by Rocka-Buy Record's Chris's daughter, Emmie Poole, who has been busy knitting and crocheting in preparation and will have a stall at the front of the shop for the day.
