Road closures continue across Rutland following rain and floods

UPDATED 5 JANUAY AT 7:58AM:
The A6003 by Manton Bridge is still closed. Damage to drains means that the road will remain shut - although a timeline has not yet been announced. Works will take place as soon as possible.
UPDATED 4 JANUARY AT 5PM:
The A606 through Whitwell is now open.
UPDATED 4 JANUARY AT 8AM:
The A6003 through Manton remains closed, with expectations that it will remain closed for a few days.
The A606 through Whitwell is also still closed.
Drivers continue to encourage other road users to avoid Ashwell Road in between Oakham and Ashwell.
PUBLISHED 3 JANUARY AT 7AM:
Yesterday, Tuesday 2 January, Rutland encountered heavy rain and flooding at the hands of Storm Henk. As a result, many venues and roads are still closed.
The A606 through Whitwell became impassable as the rain continued into the evening, forcing the road through the village to be closed. This road remains closed.
The Noel Arms at Whitwell was commended for opening its doors last night to locals and stranded drivers.
Langham, near to Ranksborough holiday and lodge park also flooded, the water levels rising so high that it has forced a road closure beyond the village heading to Melton Mowbray. According to the AA Maps website, this route remained closed as of 7:29am today, Wednesday 3 January.
Langham, in between Barleythorpe and The Wheatsheaf is also suffering with floods and standing water.
The usual stretch of road in Oakham at the Station Road-Kilburn End junction also remains flooded, although drivers are passing with caution.
The A6003 passing Manton is barely passable, and the AA discouraged drivers from taking the route. This road has since been closed. The Lyndon Visitor Centre and Nature Reserve is temporarily closed.
The A47 through Morcott also remains closed due to flooding.
Brooke Hill Academy is also closed today, Wednesday 3 January, and the school will be updating parents throughout the day.
Rutland Farm Park on Uppingham Road will be closed until Saturday 6 January due to muddy and wet conditions on the farm yard and family attraction.
