Rutland Adult Learning and Skills Service accredited to matrix standard

Rutland County Council's Adult and Community Learning provider, Rutland Adult Learning and Skills Service (RALSS), has been accredited to the matrix Standard, demonstrating the high quality Information, advice and guidance services they provide to adults in and around Rutland.  

RALSS has been providing local educational opportunities for over 25 years, with courses including English, Maths, Digital Skills, First Aid and various leisure subjects. RALSS also provides free Information, Advice and Guidance on creating CVs and cover letters, searching or applying for jobs, finding the most appropriate course and accessing other support.  

The matrix Standard is the international quality standard for organisations that deliver information, advice and/or guidance (IAG), either as their sole purpose or as part of their service offering. 

Roger Chapman, Head of the matrix Service for The Growth Company said: "This is a fantastic achievement for Rutland Adult Learning and Skills Service and I would like to congratulate the team on their success. We believe that at the heart of high-quality advice and support services are strong leadership, excellent service and a focus on continuous improvement, all underpinned by effective use of the resources available.

"The matrix Standard is designed to benchmark organisations against best practice in these areas. With their accreditation success, Rutland Adult Learning and Skills Service is working to provide the best possible support to their clients."

Commenting on the award, Rutland County Council's Portfolio Holder for Children and Families, Cllr Tim Smith, said: "I would like to thank the many staff, learners and external partners who were directly involved in the accreditation process. Because of the passion, hard work and dedication of so many, which is so very clearly evidenced in the report, it has enabled us to achieve this important quality standard. Congratulations to everyone involved."
