Oakham's top-rated hotel on TripAdvisor is up for sale as family decide 'the time is right to pass the baton to a new owner.'

The Wisteria Hotel is a 17th-century hotel in the centre of Oakham, known for have a cosy bar, excellent restaurant, great food and drink, and 25 boutique-style en suite bedrooms.

Listed by Christie & Co, The Wisteria Hotel is on the market for £1,800,000 after owners Kristy and Chris decided it was time to move on.

Kristy and Chris first bought the hotel in 2018, previously both having worked in hotel hospitality. The Wisteria was the first hotel they had owned and operated as a couple.

'The Wisteria has been more than an investment for our family, it has been our home, and a place filled with milestones, including welcoming our second son during our time living at the hotel and navigating the unprecedented challenges of the pandemic.

'As our family circumstances and other business commitments have evolved, we feel the time if right to pass the baton to a new owner who can build on the strong foundations now in place.

'We have every confidence that the Wisteria Hotel will continue to flourish and remain a valued part of the community for many years to come.'
