The Rutland and Leicestershire Rural Policing Team are looking for experienced horse riders to join them as volunteers.

As a Mounted Police Support Volunteer, you will spend your hacking time supporting the Police by keeping an eye on the local community, area and reporting rural crimes.

Rural crimes include:

  • fly tipping
  • hare coursing
  • plant theft
  • sheep worrying
  • livestock theft
  • poaching
  • burglaries
  • and more

Exercise your horse and support the local team while you enjoy your down time.

The team shared on their social media: "Do you want to volunteer with our team? Do you have your own horse? Do you enjoy hacking out?

"Do you want to get involved in operations, initiatives and events to help tackle rural crime in your area whilst exercising your horse?

"If you live in the area and answer yes to all of the above, you can find out more and apply online."
