Two eagle-eyed Melton and Rutland Response Officers stopped a vehicle this week found to contain Class A drugs.

PC Pears and PC Woods stopped a vehicle in Rutland suspected to be involved in the supply of controlled drugs.

Their suspicions were proved correct when they looked inside the vehicle and found a quantity of Class A drugs and cash. The occupant of the vehicle was arrested at the scene for posession with intent to supply controlled drugs.

Speaking on the incident, Liecestershire Police said: "[this is] another great example of officers acting proactively on information supplied by the public and it shows just how vital you are to the work we do."

The prevention of the sale and distribution of drugs is a local priority so this arrest is a big win for Rutland and Melton Police.

The Police would like to remind local people that, if you see something suspicious, you can report it online via their website, by phone on 101 or by using Crime Stoppers.
