PC Lloyd, a familiar face in Oakham and Barleythorpe will be taking on a new role as Temporary Sergeant in Melton Mowbray after twelve years of service in the local area.

PC Joe Lloyd is popular in the local area, and has been serving in Oakham and Barleythorpe for over a decade, fighting crime and taking time to get to know the local people.

PC Joe Lloyd won The Guy Swatland trophy for the force's Beat Officer Of The Year in 2019, and it is clear to see why, with his enthusiasm for the area and personable attitude while on the beat.

Now he is taking an exciting new step in his career with a move to Melton Mowbray to become a Temporary Sergeant.

PC Joe Lloyd said: "After 12 amazing years as the beat officer for Oakham & Barleythorpe the time has come to turn a new page in my policing career. I will be leaving to take up a new role as a Temporary Sergeant based in Melton.

"It's been a great honour to serve the community of Rutland and I will of course miss many people. I would like to thank the residents for their support over the years, partner agencies and our 999 services."

Congratulations to PC Joe Lloyd and good luck in your new position in Melton Mowbray.
