Rutland has launched its new Healthy Workplaces programme.

A brand new programme to help businesses and organisations in Rutland become healthier places to work is being officially launched today, Wednesday 1 November 2023.

The Healthy Workplaces Rutland programme has been designed to help places of work and local organisations achieve the 'Healthy Workplaces Rutland Accreditation'.

Businesses and organisations who sign up can benefit from the Workplace Health Needs Assessment. This will help them receive an independent understanding of what health and wellbeing support their employees need and how their work is impacting this. Other support is also available, including Health MOTs for staff, training for managers and others.

The programme ensures a fully bespoke and tailored programme for each workforce in which businesses can choose what parts of the programme would work for their organisation, some of which is completely free to put in place.

Rutland County Council's Portfolio Holder for Adult Care and Health, Cllr Diane Ellison, said: "We are extremely pleased to be able to launch this new initiative in Rutland. Looking after the physical and mental health of employees should be a priority for all employers and the Rutland Healthy Workplaces programme enables each local organisation to easily invest in their workforce's health and wellbeing, according to their size, budget and organisational needs.

"I would encourage businesses, small and large, across the county to please get involved and sign up as soon as possible. We look forward to working with many organisations to put together a programme that works specifically for their individual organisational needs whilst supporting the most positive impact for their staff."

Anyone interested in finding out more about the Rutland's Healthy Workplaces programme and becoming an accredited workplace, including finding out more about events should visit the brand new Healthy Workplaces website.
