The Rutland community Fridge team are looking for volunteers to join the team as they grow, launching a new evening Fridge.

Rutland Community Fridge is a community-led initiative from the local charity, Root-and-Branch Out to prevent food going to landfill.

Residents are encouraged to donate as they can in return for food that has reached its sell by date from local supermarkets and stores.

The Oakham Community Fridge runs from Oakham Station on a Friday from 10 - 11:30am, and the Uppingham Fridge can be found at Uppingham Town Hall from 1:30 - 3pm on Friday.

Now, the team are launching a Wednesday evening Fridge at Victoria Hall, and are looking for volunteers to help out.

They shared on social media: "We are looking for volunteers to join the Rutland Community Fridges team at the NEW after-work-hours Fridge opening at Victoria Hall in Oakham. Training is provided."
