The Rutland Community Radio Project is seeking volunteers to become members of its Project Advisory Board.

Acting in an advisory capacity, the Project Advisory Board will steer the project and work with the Project Manager to bring the new community radio station to fruition.

It is anticipated that the Advisory Board will be made up of a maximum of eight members of Rutland and Stamford communities who will provide a range of skills, from business planning, accountancy, radio production and advertising.

Rob Persani, Project Manager for the Rutland Community Radio Project said: "These appointments will play a crucial role in guiding the development of the new community radio station and I hope they will provide essential knowledge and skills to help get the new station off the ground.

"We're looking for people from the Rutland and Stamford area who have links with the community, understand business, and can be impartial and make decisions based on proposals presented to them. We are also looking for people who understand commercial and community funding models."

Applications are to be made by email to: [email protected] with the word Board in the subject. Applicants should include, in no more than 800 words, details on:

Why they are interested in being part of this project

What they will bring to the role

How they see the radio project developing

What they bring to the role, including relevant experience and knowledge

The move comes as Rutland County Council seeks people's views about the potential for a community radio station, as previously reported by Nub News.
