Rutland Council: Dog treats maker can move to new Oakham site

An Oakham manufacturer of 'dog treats' has gained planning approval to relocate its premises.

Paws Doggie Bags is currently based in Oakham Enterprise Park at Unit 5G but the premises are due for demolition.

As reported previously, business owner Carole Sandhu is seeking to move to unit 24 on the business park but had to apply to Rutland County Council for a change of use to the empty premises.

A council report said the treats would be baked by hand and all the cooking equipment would be transferred from one building to the other.

Recommending approval, planning staff said the small scale business was an acceptable use for the building. There would be no unacceptable adverse impacts and it was appropriate for the context of the location.
