Rutland County Council is inviting comments from residents and interested parties on the Interim Position Statement on Housing Development, which was approved by Cabinet in June 2022.

The Position Statement provides interim guidance which will apply until the Council has adopted a new Local Plan for Rutland and sets out criteria for what the Council considers good quality development in sustainable locations within Rutland, in order to ensure that new homes are delivered in the right places and at an appropriate scale, to help meet Rutland's short term needs.

All comments are welcome and will be considered for inclusion in the next update of the Position Statement, which will be reviewed as the preparation of the Local Plan progresses and in response to any changes in the Council's five-year housing supply.

You can view the Interim Housing Position Statement and make comment by online by using this link. The online form will remain open until 4pm on Friday the 28th of October 2022.

A reference copy of the document is available to view in the customer self-serve area at our Oakham offices, during normal opening hours.

For any further enquiries, please email [email protected]or call the Council's customer services team on 01572 722 577 who will arrange for a member of the Local Plan team to contact you and provide you with a response.
