The self-proclaimed number 1 fan of Adam Croft's Rutland Crime series enjoyed a surprise book signing in a visit to Rutland last weekend.

On Saturday 27 May, Karina Gallagher was visiting Rutland for one of her semi-regular trips to the home of her favourite crime books, the Rutland Crime series.

Upon arrival, she got more than she bargained for when she found out that Adam was hosting a last minute book signing at a local garden centre!

Karina has also bought some of Adam Croft's popular merchandise.

The Rutland Crime series focuses on DI Caroline Hills and DS Dexter Antoine as they investigate a series of gruesome murders that take place in Oakham and Rutland, many local landmarks featuring as dramatic backdrops to these bloody crimes.

All five books, 'What Lies Beneath', 'On Borrowed Time', 'In Cold Blood', and 'Kiss of Death' and 'Moment of Truth', are set in and around Rutland and feature some iconic Rutland scenery. As such, it is unsurprising that these titles have drawn fans of Adam Croft to the area to enjoy the sights and scenes - that are much less gruesome in real life!

Karina Gallagher is one of these fans.

Karina explained: "What a fantastic visit I had to Rutland last weekend. I drove all the way from Glasgow, for my fourth visit to the area as immortalised by Adam Croft's Rutland Crime Series!

This trip had been planned for a couple of months, so imagine my surprise and delight when Adam advertised that he would be doing a book signing that would take place while I was there! I was in heaven..."

The event took place at Barefoot Sunday, located at Rutland Garden Village.

Karina added: "I was sad to leave Rutland on Sunday, but as I now have friends in the area (made through Adam's Facebook readers group) I will most certainly be back."
