A local lady has rescued two Malinois dogs, but needs community support to help fund the rehabilitation of the mother and her pup.

Donna Wright, of Meadow View Dog Paddock and Training, is passionate about offering all dogs the chance at life, and she has come up against one of her biggest challenges to date after rescuing the Malinois pair, who were facing euthanasia.

Already having received support from BM Kennels, Donna and the team behind this selfless rescue have turned to the community to help cover the costs associated with rehabilitating two rescue dogs - a demanding and costly job.

The team behind the rescue are hoping to raise £3,500, and have set up a gofundme to support the efforts, where they have already raised £1,360 (at the time of writing).

The team said: "We urgently need your help to save the lives of two beautiful Malinois dogs rescued by Donna Wright at Meadow View Dog Training in Rutland. These poor souls, a mother, and her pup, were abandoned on a main road and are now at risk of euthanasia within seven days if not claimed.

"Donna, known for her tireless efforts to improve the lives of dogs, has taken them in despite the challenges. To ensure their safety and well-being, we have secured a discounted price from BM Kennels for a large, double kennel. This will provide a secure and comfortable space for the dogs during their rehabilitation period."

Donne and the team need support funding:

Kennel Cost: "We are seeking financial support to cover the cost of the kennel, which we have managed to reduce with the help of BM Kennels. The kennel is crucial to keep the dogs separate but visible, ensuring their safety and providing the space they need."

Target: £2,800

Veterinary Bills: "In addition to the kennel, both dogs require immediate veterinary care. This includes vaccinations, neutering, health check-ups, and any necessary treatments to ensure they are on the road to recovery and ready for their second chance at a happy life."

Target: £700-1000

You can donate here: "Every contribution, no matter how small, brings us one step closer to giving these dogs the care they desperately need. Click on the 'Donate' button to make a difference."

Share: "Spread the word! Share this campaign on social media, email, or by word of mouth. The more people who know, the greater the impact we can make."

The team concluded: "Your generosity will directly contribute to the rescue, rehabilitation, and rehoming of these abandoned Malinois dogs. Every penny counts, and your support will make a lasting difference in their lives."
