Rutland Farm Park will be hosting a family fun day this Sunday to mark their 6th anniversary.

Rutland Farm Park is a popular local attraction run by one Rutland family, with yours in mind, and this weekend they will be celebrating 6 years of hard work, family fundraisers, animal rescue and much more.

Headed up by owners and hands-on managers Clive and Julie, the farm has been a top spot for grownups and children since it reopened in 2017 after being closed for over a decade.

It brags a range of attractions and features, including a café, play park, animal petting and feeding sessions, a selection of home and handmade and allergy-friendly goodies available at Daphne's tea room, seasonal activities and a collection of rare breed animals.

Farm Amy said: "It has been such a tough couple of years since we opened up the public, which was a very quick decision, so not only did we have the worse summer which was ever so hot, and the worse winter where we had so much snow, then followed by Covid, it was a really difficult time for us.

"But, I can hands on heart say, if it hadn't have been for all of the donations and for Wayne at Rutland Pet Supplies for sorting those donations and making awareness, I don't think we'd have made it through Covid. The community really came together and really got us through. So to be here today, running this farm and still being a working project really is amazing. I feel proud that we have managed to get this far and I know my grandparents would be so proud.

"It's been fabulous to have the support through renovation work as well which is taking much longer than we thought but the support had been fab, and I know once it's done the farm will be worth the wait."

As such, the team are thrilled to be celebrating their 6th birthday as a family attraction this weekend.

The team are getting ready to celebrate their 6th birthday with a family fun day to bring in the end of the summer "with a bang".

The fun day will take place from 12pm until 4pm on Sunday 17 September and all are welcome to join the celebrations.

The team said: "It's our 6th birthday this September, so this only means one thing - it's time for another fun day! Let's see the end of the summer with a bang."

The day will include a range of activities and will be purple themed as the team continue their efforts to raise money for blood cancer research, this month supporting Lymphoma Action.

Last month, they raised over £1,000 for Blood Cancer UK.
