Yesterday, Sunday 25 June, the Rutland Food and Drink Festival took place in Oakham, and the next iteration of the event has already been announced.

Located in Oakham Market Place and supported by neighbouring shops and businesses, the event was well supported and saw a host of local suppliers head out in the heat to tout their wares.

Organised by Carolyn Acton-Reed of Oakham & Rutland Events, the festival takes place a handful of times each year and welcomes local favourites, such as Multi Gin Parvo, Warner's Traditional Sweets and many more.

GRIFF's were also in attendance, a familiar face in the market place every Saturday, where they craft and create handmade pizzas for the Rutland residents - whatever the weather!

Although it was a hot one, the duo nearly sold out, as they often do.

GRIFF's Pizza is a popular street food provider in Rutland, with a solid 5 star food hygiene rating.

Alongside GRIFF's were Chris and Hollie from Warner's, who work with GRIFF's every weekend delivering pizza, ice-cream and other sweet treats to the people of Rutland.

Warner's also launched their brand new waffle bowls at the event.

If attendees didn't already feel sick from all of the sweets and ice-cream, there were also rides for the kids.

The event was well attended despite the heat, and was a good opportunity for local sellers, producers and creatives to get out and meet Rutland's 'foodie' residents.

The next Rutland Food and Drink Festival is scheduled for Sunday 24 September.
