Alicia Kearns MP met with the Principal of Uppingham Community College (UCC), Ben Solly, the Chair of Governors, Geoff Thompson, and three members of the UCC Student Council to discuss recent developments to the school site.

Alicia also discussed mental health and wellbeing support for students, and Government plans to boost the recruitment and retention of teaching staff.

Alicia was taken on a tour of UCC to see the school's new facilities.

Alicia Kearns, Member of Parliament for Rutland and Melton, said: "It was a pleasure to meet with Principal Solly and the Chair of Governors at Uppingham Community College to discuss developments the school has made to its site and priorities for supporting students."

She continued: "Thank you to the three students from the Student Council who took the time to chat about their experiences at Uppingham Community College and show me around their fantastic new facilities. It's wonderful to meet pupils with such ambitious plans and enthusiasm for the future of their school."
