Rutland and Melton MP Alicia Kearns has launched the All Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) on Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH).

The group aims to further relations between the UK and BiH and bolster Parliamentarian's understanding of its socio-economic and political environment.

The APPG will examine how the UK identify areas for cooperation and ensure the UK remains a steadfast friend to its allies in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

At the APPG's launch this Thursday morning, Bosnia's Ambassador to the UK Vanja Filipovic spoke to the members about his hopes for UK-Bosnian relations alongside how Bosnia has responded to the pandemic and plans to recover from it.

Rutland and Melton MP, Alicia Kearns, said: "I am delighted to be launching the All Party Parliamentary Group on Bosnia and Herzegovina – a nation with whom we have intrinsic and meaningful ties.

"Having visited BiH with members of our Armed Forces who served there, and having worked with the Bosnian Government, I am grateful for the opportunity to work with our allies to bolster our relations and support this fantastic nation in achieving their key objectives."

At the APPG launch, the following officers were elected:

Alicia Kearns and Lord Bourne of Aberystwyth: Co-Chairs

Fleur Anderson MP and James Sunderland MP: Vice Chairs
