Rutland police tackle drugs and other priorities highlighted by local people

Oakham and Barleythorpe police have been hard at work tackling beat priorities highlighted by the public following a recent survey.
They have updated local people on progress, offering thanks for feedback offered to help the team confront issues most concerning for Rutland residents.
Last week the local force held a dedicate drugs offence week campaign, focusing man power and resources on tackling local drugs supply.
PC Robinson shared an update from the team: "Local Officers have been supported by our Specialist Support Directorate in tackling our drug supply in Rutland as well as travelling criminality groups."
As a result of this, the team undertook a dramatic stop, following a Fail to Stop offence, in which two perpetrators were dealt with on Possession with Intent to Supply Class B, Concerned in the Supply of Class A and possession of Offensive Weapon
PC Robinson continued: "There was a successful operation across Rutland on Tuesday which saw a couple of perpetrators think that they could Fail to Stop for Police Officers and evade capture. Unfortunately, they found out that the training our pursuit Officers receive for their tactics leave them a step ahead of the rest and they were soon stopped and dealt with for Failing to Stop when required by a Constable, amongst other traffic offences.
"The two perpetrators have also been dealt with for other offences of Possession with Intent to Supply Class B, Concerned in the Supply of Class A and possession of Offensive Weapon.
"The investigations are still ongoing however it shows again that your local Police are addressing the areas of concern as highlighted by those that have."
