Rutland Police have been cracking down on anti-social behaviour and drug use after feedback provided by local people highlighted these as issues of concern across Rutland.
Antisocial behaviour is defined as 'behaviour by a person which causes, or is likely to cause, harassment, alarm or distress to persons not of the same household as the person'.
There are three main categories for antisocial behaviour, depending on how many people are affected:
- Personal antisocial behaviour is when a person targets a specific individual or group
- Nuisance antisocial behaviour is when a person causes trouble, annoyance or suffering to a community
- Environmental antisocial behaviour is when a person's actions affect the wider environment, such as public spaces or buildings
PC Robinson said: "I have been working alongside partner agencies to deter and resolve issues that have been brought to our attention. Main issues raised have been anti-social behaviour and drug taking and dealing.
"With the support of members of the public providing us with intelligence, we have managed to resolve a few issues around anti-social behaviour and dealt with those that have been causing the issues in the area."
Drug taking and dealing is another area that was raised to the local policing team via meetings and intelligence which had led to people around Catmose College area being searched for drugs.
PC Robinson continued: "PC 656 and PC 3067 assisted myself with the searches which has led to a positive outcome seizing a large amount of drugs. Those involved are being dealt with for the possession."
Last month, the team also shared that their crackdown on drug use had seen them seize a quantity of class A drugs and cash, as well as the vehicle being driven by the suspect.
During their investigations, Police discovered that the male suspect is in the country illegally, resulting in the involvement of immigration services.
You can keep up to date with the team on Facebook, where they post regular information and share details about upcoming beat surgeries.
Alternatively, report a crime on the Leicestershire Police website.
