Rutland has a special connection to the military which makes Remembrance Day an important occasion across the county.
Over 25% of Rutland's population is military or military related, counting serving soldiers and members of the military living in Rutland and serving elsewhere and veterans and their families.
Reflecting every year on Remembrance Day in Rutland is important, with several events taking place across the county to mark the occasion.
On Saturday 8 November, there will be a special concert for the Royal British Legion in Oakham.
The concert, which will take place at All Saint's Church, is called 'Music for Remembrance' and will feature the Rutland Concert Band and award-winning soprano Katie Marshall.
This event will start at 7.30pm, with tickets available on the door for £5 for The Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal.
There are also other events in Oakham to mark Remembrance Day and Remembrance Sunday, with the Rutland Festival of Remembrance taking place at Rutland Hall Hotel.
The Rutland Festival of Remembrance will be hosted by the Lord Lieutenant of Rutland with drinks and canapes followed by performances by Cottesmore Military Wives Choir, the LNR ACF Corps of Drums, Uppingham School Pipe Band and Harrington Band and Choir.
