Rutland rogue traders warning

By The Editor

27th May 2020 | Local News

Rogue traders are said to be cold calling residents in Melton and Rutland offering driveway work.

Rutland Neighbourhood Watch says this work is often substandard, not required and the price inflated.

Consumers are also unable to claim on any warranty if they have not been given the correct paperwork and business information.

A spokesman said: "Our advice is always not to buy at the door and never to pay in cash. Always check the credentials of any company you agree to carry out work for you and obtain at least 3 quotes to allow you to make the most informed decision."

Remember if you're not sure, don't open the door. To report, or for free advice and guidance, please contact 0808 223 1133.
