From Monday the 28th of November 2022, all vehicles will need to be registered to use Rutland County Council recycling centres.

Rutland residents have been asked to ensure that their vehicles are registered to access local recycling centres before they visit. You can do this online through MyAccount.

While many residents are already registered, some have reported issues with the system, saying that their previously registered car cannot be found on the system.

As such, residents should check that they are registered, even if they have done so previously, before visiting the Cottesmore and North Luffenham household waste and recycling centres.

While some Rutland Facebook users have criticised this requirement, suggesting that it may encourage fly tipping, many have commented that this has been the case for some years in the area (the deadline for registration being Monday the 28th of November) and that it is accepted practice.
