The Rutland Water Parkrun has been cancelled this weekend.

The fun run organisers have shared on social media that their weekly event will not be going ahead this Saturday 24 June.

Parkrun is a national initiative that sees amateur runners head to their local parks and public spaces to participate in a social run.

Parkrun is a free, community event where you can walk, jog, run, volunteer or spectate. Parkrun is 5k and takes place every Saturday morning, while Junior Parkrun is 2k run, dedicated to 4-14 year olds and their families, and takes place every Sunday morning.

However, the event has been cancelled this weekend due to another event being hosted at the water.

Instead, a 10k Pacesetter running event will be going ahead at Whitwell, Rutland Water.
