Rutland Day at Oakham Castle

Celebrate Rutland's rich culture and heritage this Rutland Day at Oakham Castle, with fun for the whole family.

This year's celebrations include a return of the Ferres Household Medieval Re-enactment Group with their authentic living history camp where visitors can discover historic crafts, meet talented artisans and speak to soldiers about their life in the medieval camp.

Nicola will also be running special mini walking tours, showcasing the town's heritage and uncovering colourful local characters and unveiling some of Oakham's historic buildings and landmarks.

There will also be outdoor lawn games, circus workshops, crafts from Root and Branch Out, face painting and more.

Carmen Reimagined at The Barnsdale Hotel

Opera like you've never seen it before.

This Thursday, The Barnsdale has a one-night-only reimagined performance of Bizet's Carmen.

Four professional singers and one virtuoso pianist bring Bizet's famous music to life in French, woven together with a fresh English script guiding the audience through the story.
