Rutland youngsters invited to submit Corgi art ahead of royal statue unveiling

Budding young artists in Rutland can submit their corgi artwork this spring as the unveiling of Rutland's royal statue approaches.
Organised by Rutland's Lord-Lieutenant, Dr Sarah Furness, the country's smallest county will be welcoming a statue of the late Queen Elizabeth II later this month.
As a part of the celebrations, art of corgis created by local children is being accepted now - so get your paws to paper and get creating!
The two winning artists will be welcomed by the Lord-Lieutenant to unveil the pair of bronze corgis at the ceremony , which is set to take place on 21 April.
To enter, children can draw or paint their best corgi picture.
Make sure to add personal details with your submission, including:
- name
- age
- school
- contact information
Drop off your entry at Rutland County Library in Oakham by 12 April 2024.
The artwork will then be judged by portrait painter, Alastair Adams, who will select the two winning entries.
As well as the winners having the chance to unveil the two corgi statues, the winning pictures will also be professionally framed.
