Ellena Taylor, age 27, will be performing on The Voice UK this Saturday 21st September on ITV1 at 8.30pm.

Ellena grew up in Melton, attending Catmose College in Oakham where she was encouraged to pursue her passion for singing.

She went on to study at the Royal Central School for Speech and Drama in London, where she began to make music, going on to start writing her own during the Covid-19 pandemic.

Her music is available to listen to on all major streaming platforms under the name EDA NIVES.

She was first approached a year ago by the producers that had seen the videos of her singing original songs on social media.

She told the Melton Times that: 'It was the most scary thing I've ever done!'

She was especially influenced by her music teachers at Catmose College and her stepfather Dan Britton, who sings in a local Ceilidh band called Govannen.
