The winners and runners up of the first ever Multum Awards have been selected and presented with their awards and certificates at a celebration event on Saturday the 3rd of December 2022.

Hosted by the Leader of Rutland County Council, Cllr Lucy Stephenson, the Multum Awards were held at the Rutland County Museum on Saturday where invitees were treated to tea and cake before winners were presented with their award and runners up with a certificate.

Cllr Lucy Stephenson said: "After receiving over 50 nominations, it was a pleasure to be able to have winners and runners up along with their family and friends all in one room to present them with an award and certificate for all of their efforts.

"The Multum Awards has highlighted just how many special people we have living here in Rutland and whilst we were unable to select everyone as the winner, each and every nominee is a winner in their own right. The panel were blown away by the efforts that some of our residents go to for little or no recognition.

"I would like to thank everyone who nominated as without them, the Multum Awards couldn't have happened. An even bigger thank you to our nominees, who are the true heroes of Rutland – thank you all for everything you do and for going above and beyond for the good of our County.

"I already look forward to next year and hope that we can make the Multum Awards an annual event for Rutland."

So proud of our humble little hedgehog rescue for being runners up in the 'wildlife warrior' category. It was great to hear about the work and achievements of so many others in our small but mighty county. We were particularly inspired by the younger winners & runners who are doing such great things for others or the environment."
