Don't miss your chance to see "The Sweet Science of Bruising" at the Stamford Arts Centre Theatre only on until this Saturday 6th September.

Telling the story of four gritty Victorian women fighting to become champion Lady Boxers, the play portrays the bloody story of women transgressing gender norms to prove themselves in a male-dominated world.

Set in 1869 Islington, the play explores the stories of four women from different backgrounds discovering an underground boxing ring. The play follows Anna, Matty, Polly and Violet as they navigate the struggles of 1860s London, working to become the Lady Boxing Champion of the World.

This tale of female empowerment, subversion and grit is produced by Stamford Shoestring Theatre.
