Single bus fares capped at £1 for young people in Rutland
By Grace Kennington 10th Aug 2026
Young people in Rutland will benefit from a capped £1 bus fare from September on public transport.
Rutland Council has announced young people across Rutland will have capped £1 fares on single journeys across Rutland from September 2026 for those aged between 5 and 19.
The scheme hopes to make travel across the county more affordable for young people, including for school or college, travelling for work, socialising, and getting about.
Children aged 5 to 10 do not need a bus pass and will automatically receive capped fares but young people aged 11 to 19 will get the capped fares by applying for a Young Person's Discount bus pass.
