Detectives are appealing for information after a burglary at a shop and two attempts to steal vehicles in Oakham at the weekend.

The incidents occurred on Saturday night (2 March).

Police have stated: "The first report was received at 11.24pm and related to a shop in the High Street when three people broke into the premises and stole some clothes.

"Two of the suspects made off in a van. The third suspect has run off towards the train station.

"Shortly after midnight (Sunday 3 March) a second report was received from a woman who was in Station Road. She was in her vehicle when a man attempted to steal her car. She managed to resist, and the suspect made off.

"A few minutes later a third report was received from the driver of a vehicle in Melton Road who was approached by a man who tried to steal his car and then made off empty handed."

The team at Enderbury Outfitters, the shop from which items were stolen, have confirmed that "the shop was emptied in the incident".

All of the reports cited by Leicestershire and Rutland Police are believed to be linked. Officers would like to speak to anyone who may have witnessed what happened or have information which could assist with their enquiries.

Anyone with any information is asked to contact DC 1860 Lauren Hampton on 101 or via www.leics.police.uk, quoting crime number 24*128357.
