Thursday Night Dinner at The Fox and Hounds

The Fox and Hounds will be hosting their £12 Thursday special on Thursday 15 February.

This week's dish will be fish and chips - a classic so popular that last time it was on the menu, the restaurant was fully booked!

Head down to 6 Somerby Road, Knossington to join the fun.

Quiz Night at The Plough

The weekly quiz at The Plough is a popular event at friendly village pub, and will be taking place again on Thursday 22 February at 8pm.

The event costs £1 per person to enter, max 6 person per team.

Winning team get a round of drinks, and all teams go into a draw to crack the safe. Could you win?

Oakham Castle Showcase

Oakham Castle will be getting dressed to impress this weekend at a FREE event. 

The team at Oakham Castle's Great Hall will be showcasing the special venue for weddings and events on 24 February 2024 from 11am until 3pm. 

If you're planning a dinner, afternoon tea party, Ceremony or Wedding this event is where you will find the perfect partner to help create just what you want. The friendly team will be on hand to answer all your questions and be joined by brilliant local suppliers who have work with Oakham Castle to create great events.

Parking will be unavailable at the castle on the day of the event.

February Big Book Sale

The Oakham Library Big Book Sale is back this Saturday from 9am until 1pm.

In summer 2023, the Rutland Libraries team launched a monthly book sale at Oakham Library, in which the team sell old or duplicate copies of adult fiction and non-fiction, children's books, comics, DVDs, audiobooks and more.

The Big Book Sale at Oakham Library takes place on the last Saturday of every month, and this month will be taking place on Saturday 24 February.

Snowdrop season at Barnsdale Gardens

It is Snowdrop Season at Barnsdale Gardens until 29 February.

It's the perfect time to come and indulge yourself in our extensive range of snowdrops planted throughout the gardens. There are lots of our common snowdrops as well as many rare and unusual varieties to see, all mixed in with so much other winter interest. This is a time of year not to be missed - from 10am until 4pm daily.
