Uppingham Town Council are launching an exciting opportunity to delve into the rich history of the town as part of their Uppingham Explore Project 2025. 

Taking place on 28th February and 7th, 21st and 28th March, these events will give both residents and visitors the unique and fascinating opportunity to explore Uppingham's heritage, architecture and thriving independent businesses.

Tours will take place exploring the heart of Uppingham, uncovering the history of this picturesque town, uncovering impressive Georgian architecture and the role it played in centuries-worth of local commerce. 

The tours will also highlight the town's independent shops, cafes, bars and restaurants that form Uppingham's beating heart by creating both a sense of community and giving the town its distinctive character. These businesses are a vital part of Uppingham's charm and vary from stunning antique shops to cosy cafes.

If that isn't enough to satisfy your interest in local history, the Uppingham Explore Project are also offering a rare opportunity to explore Uppingham School's fascinating heritage through an engaging interactive tour. 

This will include a guided tour by the school archivists. Visitors will learn about the school's lasting contributions to the local community, as well as the way it has impacted education and teaching. The tour will offer residents and visitors a rare look into Uppingham School, offering a whole new perspective on the iconic building.
