Heritage Evening at Rutland County Museum

Friends of Rutland County Museum are holding a Heritage Evening, bringing all the local heritage groups in one place.

From Rutland's heritage, local history, archaeology, transport and more, there is plenty to uncover.

The following groups will attend:

  • Archaeology Group,
  • Aviation Society,
  • Classics for All East Midlands,
  • Cottesmore History Group,
  • Friends of Rutland County Museum and Oakham Castle,
  • Langham Village History Group,
  • Rocks by Rail,
  • Rutland Local History and Record Society,
  • University of Leicester Archaeology,
  • Uppingham Local History Group

This event is free to attend on Thursday 13 November, from 7.30pm.

Winter Tree Beginner's Workshop at Anglian Water Bird Watching Centre

Join conservation ranger Luke for a morning of learning about native trees, finding out how they look in both the warmer and cooler months of the year.

The session will include a presentation on how to identify different types of trees, followed by a walk on the reserve to put it all into practice.

Wine Tasting at Oakham Castle

On Friday 24 November, Oakham Castle will be hosting a wine tasting night with Bat and Bottle, The French Cellar, L'Art de Vivre, Matt Gregory Wines and The Rutland Vineyard.

Taking place in the Great Hall of Oakham Castle, this is a great opportunity to try local lines all in one place.

Rutland Christmas Wine Tasting

Harringworth Christmas Artisan Market

The Harringworth Christmas Artisan Market will take place on Saturday 15 November at St John the Baptist Church in Harringworth between 11am and 4pm.

The market is free to attend and will have artisan stalls, a raffle and café.

The St John's Christmas Café will be serving up cakes, mince pies and bacon baps. There will also be a raffle and 'created in Harringworth' stall with potted bulbs, homemade cakes, jams, jellies, chutneys and other great options for gifting.
