A special meeting of the planning and licensing committee this week will consider two controversial major developments proposed for two Rutland villages.
The move follows the schemes being deferred at the last meeting of Rutland County Council's planning and licensing committee at the end of June, as previously reported by Nub News.
The Pegasus Group seek to build 75 homes on a 5.52ha site off Park Road, Ketton, as previously reported by Nub News.
County planners have recommended the scheme be refused, saying the agricultural site is outside the planned development limits for Ketton.
Their report added: "There have been many objections to the development. Issues of policy, archaeology, highway safety, flooding and residential amenity have been considered but the policy issue is overriding in this instance."
The second scheme, which is also recommended for refusal, concerns 66 homes in Whissendine.
As Nub News previously reported, the Muller Property Group propose a "a distinctive and high-quality development which adds to the overall character of the village" on 3.46ha of paddock land to the south Of Stapleford Road, Whissendine.
Council planning staff say much of the site is outside the planning limits for the village.
Their report added: "There have been many objections to the development. Issues of policy, archaeology, highway safety, flooding and residential amenity have been considered but the policy issue is overriding in this instance."
No other planning applications are currently on the agenda of the meeting, which takes place on Tuesday July 13 at 7pm, at Rutland County Museum.
