Sponsor an animal at Rutland Farm Park and help support a local rural business.

Rutland Farm Park, located on Uppingham Road, is offering visitors the opportunity to sponsor their animals, and two recent additions to the farm are now available to sponsor.

Nestled in the picturesque countryside of Oakham, Rutland Farm Park stands as an 18-acre beacon of rural charm and family-friendly entertainment. The family attraction is a testament to the simple joys of farm life and the enduring appeal of connecting with nature.

It brags a range of attractions and features, including a café, play park, animal petting and feeding sessions, a selection of home and handmade and allergy-friendly goodies available at Daphne's tea room, holiday activities and a collection of rare breed animals.

The family-run haven has been captivating visitors since its it reopened to the public six years ago - and only last weekend, celebrated its sixth birthday with a family fun day.

At their regular fun days, and as a part of everyday life on the farm, visitors can enjoy the opportunity to get up close and personal with a menagerie of farm animals, from sheep, goats, donkeys, cattle, a Clydesdale and a shire horse, alpacas, chickens, rabbits, guinea pigs and much more.

Their two newer additions to the farm, Drummer and Toffee, are looking for sponsorship.

The pair of horses were taken in by the family-run farm when their owner approached farmer Amy ahead of his move to America.

The team said: "Drummer and Toffee are proving to be very popular amongst our visitors. These boys were donated to Amy by a lovely Gentleman who is moving back to America. She bonded with this boys right away and the trio have such an incredible relationship.

"They have settled in with us incredibly well and are loving the fuss from our visitors, so we have decided to add them to our animal sponsor packs. All sponsors go towards the care of those animals, and includes food, hay, farrier costs, yearly vaccinations and any vet care."

Because the farm rescues rare breed animals, preventing them from being neglected or euthanised, costs can be high for the team, so you support is invaluable.

Will you be sponsoring these big boys?

Sponsor packs start at £20 and are a great birthday or Christmas gift for the animal lover in your life.

Message the team on Facebook or pop in for a chat for more information or to pre order your sponsorship pack for Christmas.

Rutland Farm Park has also recently received the Family-Run Attraction of the Year Award at the Premium Awards 2023 - which is not surprising, considering that they already have a generous lineup of family-friendly activities and fun days planned on the run up to half-term, Halloween and even Christmas!

These events include half-term fun and games, their spooktacular Halloween Party - details of which are yet to be announced - and a Creepy Crawly event celebrating all things 'insect' ahead of Halloween!

On top of this, the team are getting ready to welcome Santa to the farm as they host their first ever afternoon tea with Santa event, perfect for the kids as the festive season gets going.

Parking at the farm is free, and you can purchase extras like animal feed on the day – just be sure not to feed the horses.

Visitors to the attraction can turn up on the day or book tickets online.
