Catmose Sports Centre in Oakham will be closing later this month, and the team are getting set to host a party for staff and users to say a fond farewell.

Catmose Sports Centre will cease to operate as a public leisure facility following the conclusion of Rutland County Council's contract with Stevenage Leisure Limited (SLL), which comes to an end on Friday 31 May 2024.

As such, the team are getting ready to say 'goodbye' after over a decade of public use.

This will take place on 25 May 2024 from 2 - 4:30pm, where users have been invited to bring sweet or savoury snacks and non-alcoholic drinks to 'cheers' the times enjoyed at the facility since 2011.

The owner of the sports centre building, Catmose College, has issued a statement regarding the possibility of ongoing community access for groups and sports clubs, beyond 31 May 2024.

This statement can be read on the College's website.

Any clubs or groups needing information about alternative facilities in the County should contact: [email protected].
