The neighbouring town of Stamford will, this Bank Holiday Monday, be hosting a Diversity Festival celebrating world music, food, and culture.

The Diversity Festival will be hosted by Stamford Diversity Group CIC, a community-led group whose ambition is to make Stamford and the surrounding areas an inclusive and welcoming place.

The event will welcome a range of world musicians, performing a range of music including but not limited to Latin American bands, Latino Sound, Ritu Ranga Bollywood dancers and Caribbean Steel Drums.

World food will take visitors on a journey to Thailand, India and Jamaica - and other exotic countries and regions.

8 x 4 ft street art boards will showcase local talent with several artist contributing giant installations on double boards.

The event is organised by Stamford Diversity Group CIC, which is a non profit organisation run by volunteers, and the main sponsor is Bakkavor, with support from Lincolnshire One Venues.

The group also currently has an exhibition at Stamford Arts Centre gallery with smaller events running over two weeks based around the arts centre as part of the LOV Creative Summer.

The team would like to take this opportunity to thank contributors, who have made this festival possible: "Thanks to CS Ellis, who are providing the trailers for the stage and Jewson, who are sponsoring the boards."

The team added: "Please do share and invite friends to come together to celebrate the community spirit that makes our Stamford so special!"

Stamford Diversity Festival will be taking place this August Bank Holiday Monday, the 29th of September at Stamford Recreation Ground.

The event will run from 11am until 6pm and is a free, family friendly event.

Head to the website, Stamford Diversity Group - Stamford Diversity Group CIC, to find out more. Alternatively, the group can be found on Facebook.
